I have an unlocked LTE USB Modem branded "ZTE MF823D" that I bought off eBay and I would like to know if there is a way to forward ports in it without pricking it. I need port forwarding because I want to play GTA V(without the annoying NAT strict warning) and I also want to connect to virtual LAN software such as Tunngle.
When opening the web interface of the modem, the router settings does not have any option to open ports. After a bit of searching, I found Here: http://my-router.blogspot.se/2015/09/zte-mf823-4g-change-ip-of-modem-and-get.html that it could possibly be modded but it might not work and/or I could prick the USB during the process. I am no expert in being able to modify the menu.js like the post suggests and I am afraid I would make a mistake.
By the way, when connecting the stick to my computer, it connects as an Ethernet and not as a 4g hotspot so I am not sure if it has to do with the ports being blocked. Also, there is an option to enable DMZ on the modem but even after enabling it and saving, the ports were still closed and I could not have any of them opened.
