This is comical because not only is Christie a top adviser for Trump but he sat on stage during the RNC and went through a mock "indictment" of Hilary Clinton for "lying" about her email server.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie knew about theinfamous 2013 lane closures on the George Washington Bridge as they were happening — because two cronies actually “bragged’’ to him about them, prosecutors said Monday.

What was the reason for this shit in the first place?

To retaliate against a mayor who didn't endorse Christie. You know, the same kind of shit a thin skinned pussy like trump would do. Birds of a feather flock together.

What was the reason for closing approach lanes to the GWB? It was to punish Fort Lee's mayor for declining to support Christie during Christie's re-election. It was petty political payback that led to horrible traffic jams for 3 days.

It must be a peculiar oddity of NJ politics that you go after a mayor who's not in your party for not supporting him. Is it just me. Sounds like deeply embedded corruption to cross party lines.

Bridget Kelly testifies and drops a bomb on Christie.

Not only did Christie know about the lane closure ahead of time, they apparently were thinking about it since 2011.

http://abc7ny.com/politics/former-aide-testifies-christie-knew-about-bridge-closures-plan/1566488/

Kelly said she then went to Gov. Christie to inform him about Wildstein's traffic study. Christie told her he was fine with the traffic study, and then asked her for an update on Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich.

I'm trying to find the 2011 reference but I heard it on tv.

Has anyone else considered why we are so driven to admonish the hypocrisy of others which we choose to see as different than ourselves -- considering the extreme universality of this quality?

If I had the same power and ability to impact so many people with my pettiness then I would be inclined to agree. They endangered people's lives with this bullshit.

You are 100% right.

But I am interested (for example) in why posting this on Anandtech P&N is a productive behavior. It seems to me quite a rare occasion that someone here develops a deeper understanding of their ideas on politics as a result of the evidence provided in postings such as yours. And I am curious because I believe the evidence is quite compelling. And that the effects or lack thereof are quite predictable.

You're right in the sense that few things are really new under the sun. However this is a news and politics forum, and this certainly qualifies.

As for whether everyone is a hypocrite, some are clearly more than others.

christie wanted a bipartisan reelection win in order to boost his electability appeal for his presidential run. being able to brag about getting democrat votes and endorsements would prove that he could win the general election by stealing from the Ds. his hubris will likely end in some sort of plea deal.

Well, he is Trump's transition manager. So you see what kind of folks he'll pick. Bad judgement. Sad.

Wait I thought Trump would only have the best people in his campaign and presidency. Huge, tremendous people. Well actually...

Wow. A jury gets it right finally. Seems like it's been a quite a stretch of high profile cases where juries have been looking the other way at criminal activity.

I like Chris Christie because he gathers the worst scumbags in politics around him and then he brings out the worst from them.

Upon prompting these scumbags to do their worst, in their glee to wreak havoc on their enemies, they toss common sense and wit to the wind and rely on their arrogance and positions of power to go head hunting with reckless abandon. Like a pack of piranha locked into a feeding frenzy, they expose themselves for what they are, and in turn exposes the prime instigator for all to see and judge.

It's just too bad that a lot of grisly carnage has to occur in order to prosecute and jail these assholes. However, I think that's much more preferable than having these creeps stay in power and corrupt the system even further.

Christie is a POS. He really fucked over teachers here in our great state of NJ.
Christie is a huge POS. He unilaterally raised taxes on nj and pa residents who work in the other state. Pa residents working in nj now have to pay nj taxes and vise versa. Republicans are freaking scum, claiming to be for low taxes then screwing people who have no representation.

That's how it works with a lot of states. You pay income taxes in the state where you earned the income and you often get a credit on your home state's return.

I shouldn't be laughing at this but I totally am right now - Drumpf sent Christie to fetch him 'food' from McDonalds.

That just kills me. I can't even imagine Christie's inner fury over being an errand boy.

'Hey fata...I mean Governor. We could use some burgers and fries over here, and chopfuckinchop huh?' lol
