I have a Netgear WGR614 and no matter what I plug into Port 4, it does not activate. The front panel has backlit symbols for everything (uplink, wireless, Ports 1, 2, 3, 4). Port 4 has never lit up. Has anyone else seen this problem? The router was bought new a few months ago.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what the question is. If you plug things into the other ports and they work, but not in this particular port, it's clear it's dead. Since it's less than a year old, it's bound to be under warranty, send it back.

Right, that's what's wrong. It's clear and dead. No data is transmitted. I really hope I don't have to send it back.

Well, unless you plan on accepting that you now have a three port router, you'll probably have to send it back. :)

One thing to check, some routers port 4 actually has two ports, one normal and one uplink. Make sure you are using the correct port, and not both at the same time :)

Yeah all four ports should be usable. Let's see what Netgear says. I hope they reply soon.
