Porsche Seeks Toyota's Help

This doesn't make sense... Since when does Porsche offer diesel engines? And what Porsche buyer wants a hybrid engine? Gas prices are irrelevant to Porsche buyers. I just don't understand.

It's also disgraceful to pollute Porsche with some Asian gimmick.

ewww.

Porsche is not about enviroment friendly .....

then again I dont like Prosche all that much anymore, they all look the same .... my eye bleed everytime I see a Porsche now.

ps Porsche has only 1 different looking car .... the Carrera GT

Porsche doesn't have a Diesel because they don't like the throttle response, or they'd be using the V10 TDI from the Touareg. The issue is they can no longer keep up with the demands of environmentalists. Their choice is to either create a hybrid vehicle, or stop selling their vehicles in countries that require a certain number of high efficiency or low emissions vehicles.

And the only thing comes out the tailpipes of the Carrera GT... are baby foxes.

There are already a few "3L" (ie. 3L/100km) cars in europe, via conventional methods. Although they are pretty tiny.

Audi A2's
VW Polo (smaller than golf) I don't think it is 3L though..?
VW lupo. (smaller than polo)
Benz A klasse. I'm not sure if its 3L
im sure the benz smart is, but its damn small too.

But a lot of the ~2L euro diesel engines are pretty crazy lately. Good mileage and still decent power.

I think VW ships the 1.9TDI in a >200HP configuration in some models, but still good mileage. Not to mention that diesel is way cheaper than benzin

But with those TDIs, as I understand it, even with the fancy diesel technology, it's still a Volkswagen. Correct? 😛

I'm missing the point. looks good, efficient, decent power, I've never had a reliability problem with any of my family's VW's... my old audi's.. thats another story. But I enjoy working on them.
