As long as you double-clutch it's no different than any other downshift. The first gear synchro is generally the weakest one, which is why that is usually recommended against. I've downshifted into first at 15-20 mph a couple of times.Originally posted by: GTaudiophile
At the northwestern corner of the track, the driver downshifts into first. This surprised me. I thought that was a big no-no. (I never do that unless I'm under 5mph or so.)
