LOL, I noticed the "porridge" setting on new Zojirushi rice cooker.

I've made more porridge than rice so far... Cream of Wheat, oatmeal, Malt O Meal & just made grits this morning:D.

BTW, Newegg has the 5.5 cup Zojirushi's for <$100.

you use the porridge setting on the Zoji? I tried it, and it doesn't work for me. When its done, the rice is still very watery. But someone told me that you have to leave the rice in the cooker for a while after its done, so the water evaporates. True?

Well, depends. The porridge we make at home (on the stove) is very watery as well. Its more about preference IMHO.
