Porous Tongue - Does your tongue collect gunk?

After almost 30 years of life, I have come to the conclusion that some people have more porous tongues than others.

If I use a tongue scraper, I get a lot of gunk off of my tongue.
However, my wife's tongue does not seem to contain said gunk.
When she uses the tongue scraper, nothing but clear saliva is removed.

I noticed that after an evening of drinking Guinness, my tongue scraper haul is dark brown!
It does the same thing if I drink coffee, etc.

Why does my tongue seem to collect gunk?
Does yours?

I brush my tongue every few days with my toothbrush, but the tongue scraper works much better.
Oh and Listerine after a tongue scraping tastes like burning!

yes, not all tongues are creating equal. you sound like the type that could develop hairy tongue so keep up with the tongue brushing routine.

Yes, I brush my tongue along with my teeth. No special tongue scraper or anything, just the same regular toothbrush.

Mouthwash: Crest Pro-Health stuff doesn't have alcohol, and it doesn't burn nearly as much.
