However, we don't know exactly why she killed herself, the article just makes the assumption it was because of taunting from former classmates.

It's not really that simple. 😉

Porn addiction isn't the same as "I must have sex, even if that means being adulterous, whenever I feel like it".

Having an unhealthy porn addiction is probably more damaging, to your psychological self, than being a slut or an adulterous slut.

You are not born to become a porn addict. You may have a high libido, but that doesn't lead to porn addiction. A high libido, an urge, and no partner to be had, can be settled with masturbation without porn. 😉

Now, one might be born to become an addict. I'd argue I have an addictive personality. Having a high libido and an addictive personality could lead to such a porn addiction, but there's a billion paths that combination could lead to, many not even involving sex or sexual release in any fashion.


However, I feel a need to treat this subject like gambling.
It is not in the best interest of everyone to totally ban, get rid of, or otherwise trash the porn and adult entertainment industry due to addicts and issues with the entertainers.
Most can be responsible adults about these things.

It's really the only sure-fire way for it to be done with your own hands: a shotgun in the mouth.

It's also a strong sign that it was probably thought about, she wanted no chances of failure, and didn't want the chance for anyone to save her after discovering her. She wanted it done, end of story. Actually, a very non-cowardice approach to suicide. (I hesitate to use the word brave... but it is applicable)

Pill users and cutters, more often than not, reverse their decision immediately after.

I agree... That's the most recent event but the Duke one and a few other Miss <state> outings haven't caused the same reaction (yet?).

Story says daddy was in and out of prison her whole life. There are obits (or copies of the original) online, I think one said she is survived by 9-ish siblings. Clues you in slightly on home life.

Stupid waste, regardless.
 
She killed herself only two weeks after the video came out. Seems she already had plenty of mental problems and porn is the scapegoat.
 
I hope this ends up being like a Trayvon Martin moment and causes a crackdown on these guys.

I really do.

It's an attempt to use her death to make political hay against pornography.

She was probably being bulled and taunted before doing the video. :/

Disheartening, she was a good looking girl. Wtf is wrong with her fellow students that they'd tease someone that physically attractive anyway?
 
No evidence she committed suicide because of bullying or embarrassment. Rather, doing porn may have just been an indication that pre-existing mental/psychological problems were not being effectively managed/treated and were getting worse, causing her to do more dramatic things.

I'm missing why you make a distinction for it. Porn is just a means to an end, you'd get there without it.

I get the impression that, due to the path of least resistance, disorders are disproportionately associated with it. Least for users.

For the producers, the internet is making it so widely and permanently available that the capacity to make money off of it... is surely being eliminated. Situations where women are abused into participating might self correct when there is no longer a significant monetary incentive. Perhaps after some generations pass the stigma can be properly addressed.

Plenty of women in porn are being pimped by some useless boyfriend, who met them with the intention of putting them in the trade. That kind of abusive relationship has to make a person feel like nothing, worse when it ends.

never been to that high school although i have seen it and it is a huge building

not sure why it is so huge for a more rural area

maybe they draw kids from a wider district or something
