Fake contacts ahoy! Probably had serious self esteem issues. Too bad because she was quite a cutie.

This.

So sad she took her own life. Life is strange sometimes. Imagine being 19, a herd (huge nerd) and having her as a friend. Assuming she was nice to be with of course.

Did you guys even read the article? Her parents were major losers and she had a rough upbringing and apparently also suffered from depression. It's a shame because she was very pretty unlike that idiot Duke porn actress.

That's a real damn shame. You can't fault porn for this. Fault her asshole bullies. What makes it even more sad is that none of them will feel bad about it.

In hindsight she should have went the route of escorting. Much less chance of getting outed.

Link to Duke porn actress please.

You know, I've watched porn habitually for years. Probably to the point of becoming an addict. I recently quit cold turkey after having one of those "WTF am I doing?" epiphanies and realizing the damage it was doing. I've been porn-free for a month now and feel vastly better about myself.

I'm not going to go on a moral rant about how online porn is evil. If you can handle it, I don't think it is. But a lot of guys are struggling with it. There's also a growing body of evidence that suggests there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

As for the porn stars, there's been a lot of insider insights that suggest it's definitely not a glamorous or even lucrative career. A lot of the women, and men too, come from abused backgrounds. Drug abuse is rampant and there's still a fairly lax attitude towards STDs. Apparently the suicide rate is quite high. Oddly I've known this for years but managed to tune it out for a long time. It's a difficult habit to justify when I should just be with real women instead.

I used to watch it quite a lot myself but quit.

The whole thing is just a degrading, disgusting business.

Curious what damage you were doing?

Yes.

But what alternative do the majority of virginal, socially deficient OT posters have? :whiste:

The problem with sex with real women is there's all that work. Money, dinner, drinks, relationships, attitudes, no guarantees.

Porn is 10 minutes, BOOM, yer done, get on with your life. It's just so much more efficient.

Has this turned into "why masturbation will make you go blind" thread?

Either you have someone in your life fulfilling your needs or you don't. Maybe you have someone and they aren't. The means to relieve your biological need isn't the source of the addictive behavior, your biology is the source of it. You are born to do this.

This whole notion of shaming sex is what killed this girl in the first place.
