porn company has new approach to anti-piracy

Everyone said music vendors could never compete with "free", but then Apple showed that consumers would be willing to pay for easy/convenient/quality etc, even if they could get it free somewhere else. Why would this not be the case for video as well? If it was cheap, I'd bet a lot of people would be willing to pay a little to get hassle free video.

I somehow don't believe that peer-to-peer sites are the biggest issue threatening porn companies.

I suspect that websites like Red Tube and xvideos and Porn Hub are far more damaging. Shut those down before going after individual people who just use those types of services.

Don't you dare go there!

My prediction: This anti-piracy measure will fail badly.

Yeh it will fail... husbands don't want the wives to see what movies they have been purchasing online. Lesbian transvestite gay midgets gone wild. The wife would freak if she knew I was watching that.

The best porn out there (I can't believe I'm actually saying this) is the kind that is aimed at a female audience. The "actors" appear to be more intimate and actually into their craft instead of just showing up to get a check. It also usually has much better camera work/angles.

I'm guessing it's likely women that direct that stuff too, because they know what the ladies like.

i agree. Viv Thomas is one producer that makes good quality porn.

They're competing with free, so they're going to have to add value somehow. Maybe make better quality porn?

Well if they price it right or make a subscription based setup I can see people using it over putting up with BS popups, scouring torrent sites, hoping someone is seeding what you want, and having the little nagging feeling in your head that you might get busted for illegally downloading/sharing gay midget scat.

"The plan is to make content so easily available at such a fair price that piracy is less attractive to the company's audience."

Ding ding ding! Yet another innovation from porn. Jesus, finally people figure this shit out.

qft once the price is fair most of us don't have a problem with it. There are always asshats like the illegal pot slinger that thinks he should be rollin' in a Bentley...
