Porn is completely harmless. What's all the fuss about?

So you would have no problem with your daughter, girlfriend, aunt, or mother being in it?

It might be a little weird, to say the least. Hmmm, I don't know, I hadn't really thought of that particular scenario.

Get married, have a daughter, raise her, then get back to me :)

I am married. But let me say this: I would have an issue w/ my daughter (if I had one) going into Porn just as every protective father would. I would have a problem w/ my wife going into Porn for more or less the same reason. My aunt or my mother could do what they want. I wouldn't check it out - for obvious reasons. But just because I feel that way about my close immediate family members doesn't mean porn is wrong. Or that it's necessarily harmful. Just that if it was my wife or my daughter, I would expect to have a say in the matter. :)

But it's completely harmless. What would your "say in the matter" be? Why would you have a problem with it? It's completely harmless. It wouldn't harm your daughter, wife, or you in any way, shape, or form. It's COMPLETELY HARMLESS.

P.S. I'm not some anti-porn crusader. It might be harmless to most viewers. To other viewers...it probably worsens a problem. I'm think it causes quite a bit of harm to many of the participants. A view that it is "completely harmless" is a bit naive IMHO. It certainly wasn't completely harmless to John Holmes or Savannah.

Hey, I'm just being honest. :) What father or husband wouldn't feel that way? At least initially. I think homosexuality is harmless, that doesn't mean I'd have gay sex. Or necessarily OK my wife to have gay sex. I guess if my daughter decided she was gay, it would be her choice. I think it's harmless to smoke pot. Doesn't mean I'd let my daughter do it. If she was an adult, I'd let her make her own decisions. So yes, I think it's harmless. It's only an issue because if it's your wife or daughter there are certain feelings involved. Does that make sense?

What you are saying is that a person should have the right to engage in potentially destructive behavior (which I agree with 100%). That is very different than saying something is harmless.

Sure, that makes sense. :) Although, any behavior has the potential for harm. ;)

You know it can be harmless but you still may not agree with or want to participate in it. As he said being gay is harmless it doesn't mean I'm going to go out and start tossing salads because it's harmless. Harmless != approving of.
