I like pork rinds.

Same thing. That's what a pork rind is. Pork Skin/Fat :)

I thought I'd seen pork skins for sale in the grocery store, so I just wanted to clarify which kind.

mmmm, Cracklins!

I've made my own before when trimming off the skin of a green ham. Just slap them on the smoker for an hour or so - awesome.

I used to eat them in HS when I lacked a brain.

I haven't had one since 1979.
Now that my kids have graduated from HS I realize (as we all should) that we should make value judgments (ESPECIALLY when it comes to our health).

Eat all the crap you want now ... and the sit in a hospital bed dying later.

For all who would disagree with me ... I ask a question:

Have you seen death? Have you been asked by a doctor if life support should be removed?

If you haven't seen your share of death then (IMHO) you need to educate yourself ang smarten up.

They are awesome. I hate BBQ though. God bless the South though. You can get fresh made ones easy here.

How about pork fried in pork fat = pork rinds, and topped with bacon?

the best ones i had were freshly fried, with a tiny piece of fat and meat attached.
thick, chewy, tasty, and hot

(and cooked by some homeless guy on the street corner of metro manila)

I have now seen the light. Pork rings are the spawn of Satan himself. I will never eat them again.

Thank You.

Lol that's where I tried "fresh" pork rinds for the 1st time. While on the subject I was in the grocery store yesterday and picked up a bag of microwaveable pork rinds. I cant say that i've ever seen them before. Similar to it's popcorn brother, you thow the bag in the microwave and wait for the bag to stop expanding and like magic you have nice warm rinds to feast on. Pretty good stuff imo.
