Porcelain Veneers

I'm thinking of getting porcelain veneers for my upper teeth. But I was wondering if it's worth it.

I have spaces between my 6 top front teeth. The veneers would fix the spaces, but they are also 8k+.

Anyone here get them, did you feel they where worth it? I heard you can not bite into an apple anymore once you get them, you have to cut it up then you can eat it. Is that true?

Oh and braces are not an option.

Thanks

It has to do with my Jaw and the way my teeth are aligned.

My dentist, "I have never seen someone with a jaw structure and tooth alignment like yours...."

Me, "Do I win something".

Pretty much all my back teeth are in perfect alignment, but that works against me getting my teeth moved around/fixed and overbite fixed. Has to do with my jaw and how my profile would change negatively.

The dentist said it is possible but I would have to be the Willy Wonka kid, not joking, for two years. At 24 I really don't want to do that. That and I would have to have PERFECT dental hygiene during that period. Bad teeth run in my family so no matter how careful I am I get cavities.

I have porcelain veneers, but they were put over the roots of my real teeth--when I was a kid I got my two front teeth broken in half.

I eat apples all the time. In fact, I don't even realize they're not my real teeth most of the time. You have to be careful for a bit after you get them, but once they're set, they're set.

Just realize that they won't last forever. You'll have to have them replaced probably every 15-20 years, or so I'm led to believe. I'm only on year 8 with mine.
