Popups: a no win situation, your opinions on websites doin this

I laugh at the fact that they claim they can protect your images when all you have to do is hit print screen.

It is to a win situation, I haven't seen an ad-flash-java-shockwaved-popup-opening new window site since installing proiximitron back in 2001, and I still get all the content I want.
 
Popups suck.

especially the ones that are encoded to "install" rather than close when clicking the upper right "x".
 
I hate popups, but I understand that people need money to run their sites. It is not cheap and most people put their own money into it. I think that people who run popup blockers are selfish and are killing the internet. Soon, the only people who will be able to afford to put a site on the internet will be corporations. As I said, I hate popups, but I understand the need for them.
 
Spam is the worst by far, I'm getting sh*t loads of spam from someone and cant stop it, their remove e-mail link fake :|.
 
From my experience only very, very bad sites have somewhat significant amount of popups. Just avoid them, and you'll be OK.
 
That's funny seeing that message on kazaalite.com being kazzalite's purpose is to kill kazaa's spyware revenue stream.
 
I have norton Firewall and it has a pop up blocker AND a ad blocker. So on yahoo there are no pop ups and all the ads are gone, juist the messages or stories.
 
so i go to the kazaalite.com site w/o any popup blockers and no less than 5 popups appear. FIVE.

i think he overdid it a bit.
 
Your ad filtering software sucks if you get this error message. I use AdSubtract, and don't get any "crap blocked" messages 😉
 
WTH? I just now went to every link I could find on kazaalite.com and nothing...no popups and no error messages. Am I missing something?

Don't get me wrong, I use P2P like near everyone else - but at least I acknowledge what I'm doing.

Use Proxomitron - it's a local web filter that webserver never have any clue about, and it does ANYTHING you want to incoming HTML code. Rocks my hizzouse!
