Popup stoppers & "messenger"

I read somewhere where one could disable the "messenger" (not MSN Messenger) feature in window$ in order to avoid hassles with ones popup stopper. Is anyone familiar with this?
TIA

Win2k:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
Scroll down until you see Messenger - double click it - change startup type to disabled. Apply & reboot.

WinXP is similar.

Thanx
Nope... not unless you net send messages to other computers or have a UPS unit or something that notifies you of power outages.
