From dictionary.com
"A military engine used in the Middle Ages for throwing stones, etc. It acted by means of a great weight fastened to the short arm of a lever, which, being let fall, raised the end of the long arm with great velocity, hurling stones with much force."

Hey, that looks neat!!

How does the 'heavy end' get raised?? I didn't notice any mechanism for that.

That thing is might cool.

Right now I have to make a Projectile Launcher for my physics class. Its supposed to lanch a 1/2" glass marble anywhere between 2 and 8 meters (one the day of the test, teacher gives you target, the closer you get to it, the more marks you get).

I thought about making a trebuchet, but I know nothign about how to make one, so I just did a pinball-like lancher. Spring in barrel, pull back spring and release....

Good work though.

I had to do something kind of like that in my physics class. I had to roll a marble off of a ramp on a table and have it land in a cup. You only get one shot.

Very nice! Cool stuff...I like seeing projects that folks build w/their own two hands. Shows talent and creativity. :) Now, can you build one to launch my son's mom into the troposphere?
