Popping sound in may sound card

I have a Creative Live under Win2K and notice that I keep getting a popping sound when I click links in IE. Any reason why?

That is a hard one. It could be your sound card or motherboard. I put my old cheap ISA sound card back in my computer and it does the same thing. However, a good PCI sound card did not.

It's set to do that. Go into sound properties in the control panel to remove the associated sound. I don't remember which one it is specifically, but if you notice there are headings for the various programs there. Good luck and that should do it.

i think that click sound is associated with "navigate" in the sound control panel...but i could be wrong...

either way, that's definitely the problem, you've just gotta figure out what sound it is.
