Popping from preamp and low output

I turned on my preamp the other day (an Aragon 24k) and a very loud pop came through the speakers. (Normally if I turn on the preamp and amp out of order there is a very soft pop.) The right channel was also very low and did not change with the volume level.

The loud pop also occurs when switching from On to Mute and when shutting off the preamp (the power switch goes Off-On-Mute).

None of the components have visibly failed and the readings across the transistors are consistent.

Any ideas what may be wrong?
