Popping/clicking through sound card in WinXP

Whenever I scroll up or down a graphics intensive webpage, or go to a new page, or do something similar, whatever media file playing will begin to pop and skip...it happens with both Winamp and WMP. This is with a Yamaha YMF-724-based card.

Moveyour sound card to the pci slot as far away from your video card. It might fix your problem.

Um, why? It never did this under Win98, and it seems more of a driver issue or something...

On my laptop, I hear some static while there's audio when there's a decent amount of harddrive access. Not sure if this relates to your situation though. I don't think there's a way to fix my problem though.
