She (pocahontas on the forums here) had known about the ring almost since I ordered it from mondera.com about a month ago, she snooped in my email. Found the specs for the ring and everything, and later the tracking number. So I knew I had to really surprise her, because she would expect it if I took her out to a nice restaraunt, etc. Her only two stipulations were that she wanted to look good and have her nails done. (HAH, fat chance of me letting that happen!)

So while my mom and aunt were in from out of town, we went down to a state park here in Mich. that has a great beach on Lake Michigan. We rented a jetski, and after taking my mom around for 20 minutes, I took the GF out. Rode around for a while, then asked her if she wanted to drive. She did, we we hopped in the water for a few minutes. I said the obligatory mushy stuff, pulled the ring out of the jetski's drybox, and asked her while we were in the water. Pretty good stuff.

back on the beach
the ring (.52 carat princess cut, VS2, VG/EX on a white gold cathedral setting)

I highly recommend mondera.com if you are thinking of buying a ring. It's gorgeous and much much cheaper than retail.
congrats. :)
the ring is beautiful.

Congrats dude! I'm a little confused about how you popped the question though. What do you mean when you asked her while you were in the water? You mean while you guys were on the jetski and not actually underwater holding up a big sign asking will you marry me? Sorry, stupid question, but just a tiny bit unclear to me.

Seriously, congrats man.

. That is so ironic, because an air conditioner just popped out of my grandma.

Congrats man! Way to suprise her!

you are a true man.

Thank you. :) We've had some rough times.

are you the Lucky from FW?

Yes. :)

We went out a mile or two from the shore, and I asked her if she wanted to drive. We hopped off the jetski and were treading water with lifejackets. Before we got back on, I pulled the ring out and asked her (not underwater, just beside the jetski)

Thank you for all the positive congrats! :D

Man, I'm glad I did not try to do that same thing when proposing to my lady. I would have made a beautiful speech, had her breathless, and then proceed to drop the ring into the lake.

Good luck and congrats!
