From Wiki...racial makeup was 48.30% White, 38.55% African American in Rochester NY.

I forgot about that $4.99 chicken deal on that day <last Wednesday IRRC>.
 
My favorite part is actually at the end when it shows both of the anchorwomen. One of them is huge compared to the other.

The TV station was concerned about racial interpretations of their story, before it aired.

White people wanting Fried Chicken isn't amusing to people, I read the link and even though the anchorwoman of color said nobody at the station intended the story to be racist. It's odd how they made no attempt to go to any of the Popeyes in the white areas. As there are many, and white people were probably just as up in arms over not getting the deal. And I would bet $1,000 that white people showed up to this Popeyes and were ignored for interviewing. Seems clear as day the intent behind this story. And them saying they were concerned is pure BS. If they were concerned they 1. wouldn't have singled out black people to interview and 2. wouldn't have ran the damn story at all. I would respect them more if they were honest and said "we did what we did so white people could have something to laugh at."

If they purposefully didn't include any white people in the story that's one thing, but if it just so happens that everyone there was black, so what? Ok, they brought up themselves how they knew some people might take offense to this story. it's obvious that white people did go to that Popeyes they just didn't talk to them. If they were worried about how people would preceive the story, how fucking hard would it have been to throw in a interview of Bob & Becky who were there to get chicken and upset there was no more. The fact they knew it would catch flack should indicate they would be smart enough to fix the situation. It means nothing to you because you're not black, the stereotype is stupid and I don't even know why people are so amused by it. But come tomorrow a lot of black people are going to get fucked with by white people with the "yoe yoe want some chicken dawg!" and shit like that. This story is deeper than Fried Chicken, it touches on a problem in America with perceptions of others. And one that happens to lead to black people getting mocked by white people who have this image in their head of a Sambo with big lips shucking and jiving with Fried Chicken grease all over their lips.

Okay dude, I'm from New Orleans and EVERY black person I know here loves fried chicken. Seriously, in my town there are 4 fried chicken fast food places within a 2 minute driver.

A lot of white people love it too, but not nearly as adamantly.

Same with the fact that all my asian friends love white rice. One of my friends eats 2-3 bowls a meal.

It's like when my friends make fun of the white ones in our group for liking spaghetti because they associate it with them being white. We're all friends, so we can laugh of the stereotypes, especially when they are true for a single individual.

Yes, there are problems with racism in America, but the black community by far has the best deal out of all the minorities. So I don't think you should complain about this news video.
