Swiss Guard

The force is specifically limited to one hundred soldiers and currently consists of 4 officers, 23 NCOs, 70 halberdiers, 2 drummers, and a chaplain.

Although the guards are fully trained and equipped in modern weaponry and tactics, they also receive instructions in using the sword and halberd.

So who can the Swiss Guard beat besides elves, gnomes, and dragons?

their versatile army knives will help them in their quest for the ring held by the mountain yeti.

gotta love wikpedia, I find that most of the time I am better off going there than google when searching on a topic.

Those Swiss Guards are awesome. I tipped my hat to one the first time I walked-up to one to ask him something without realizing that it's part of their routine to tips their own hats. They wear those nasty outfits even in 100+ degree Roman weather.
