No-one would let the Vatican be invaded. The USA and Europe would be all over that.. That's like marching into <INSERT HOLY MUSLIM PLACE HERE> and expecting them to NOT try and kill you..

I stand by my original point: The Islamic culture promotes hatred and intolerance, and it appears to be completely unable to deal with internal (Salman Rushdie) or external (the Pope, the cartoon thing) criticism of itself. It glorifies "martyrdom" (suicide bombing) and all kinds of other nastiness. It contributes next to nothing to humanity as a whole.

But yeah, Islam in a way is perverted in wrong. Only recently did Muslims who moved to America try to make Islam look more "civilized". It is a barbaric religion started up in a barbaric part of the world.

True, some Muslims are decent and many I respect for their disipline and faith in their beliefs as well as their self restraint from commenting on the idiocy of their counterparts in the middle east.

To be best of my knowledge, there was no "option" to join the Hitler Youth, not in any real sense anyway. You either joined, or immediately brough suspiscion and hardship on you and your family.

For this reason, I hold no ill will to different religions from around the world. Who knows what kind of religious background I'd grow up in if my parents didn't raise me Baptist. I may not agree with another religion's teachings, but I respect their rights to believe in what they want to believe in.

And yes, if you'd been through hell on earth like WWII was, I'm sure that you'd just love talking about it all the time. Just like how all those Vietnam vets love to talk about what happened to them and their buddies in the jungles of southeast Asia. He does not ignore what happened. He chooses not to talk about a very painful time in his life in which the vast majority was spent as a youth under a regime he, AND his family were vocally opposed to. As opposed as one could be without being shot.
