I'm brand new to Android
have about a week of experience

got several of those $10 kyocera tablets at target
gave one to my mother in law as a gift
installed a number of free games through Google Play Store

trouble is now that she has ads blocking access to screen on some of the game
we can't figure out how to get rid of them when they come up but somehow she eventually does
yesterday it was porn, today it was a battery saving ad
obviously we feel like we have lost control of the device

We are worried about letting the kids play games on it now
can anyone give me an idea why these are coming up and blocking access to the programs and how to get them off the screen

Some free games are supported by ads and will display an ad on the screen during game play. Usually this is just to try out the game and if you like it there is usually an option to buy an ad-free version of the game.

Just last week Google mentioned some new rules regarding the use of ads which entails removing deceptive ads, and I would imagine there should already be rules in place about porn ads.

Not sure if it's really possible for a third party app to insert ads into other apps.

Worse case scenario if you have somehow accomplished the impressive feat of actually getting infected by malware on Android, you could do a factory reset.
