I know the existance of popup ads has been discussed before, but I don't remember what was actually said about them. But today I went to reply to a thread, and got a popup ad, which I closed, and replied to the post. Then I noticed on my taskbar was another IE window, with a blank page title. Naturally the page wouldn't actually maximize, so obviously it was a hidden window for ads and/or browser tracking. When I closed it, 3 or 4 other windows spawned from it (and it reopened) as well as a popup asking if I wanted to set some other page as my homepage (Netclick or something like that).
So apparently the ad company used by Anandtech is trying to make it work the way porn sites do?
