Pop-up ad seemingly from nowhere (adsorter.bannerhosts...)

These past few days, I will be exploring the net on trusted sites, or even just opening IE. Suddenly, I will get two pop-up ads, even though I have javascript disabled and an ad prevention program (ad subtract pro) running. One of the two pop-ups just says "welcome" in the title bar with a blank page, and another with some casino ad. Anyone else seen these too? How are they getting delivered to my machine? The only things I can think of are a trojan (which I would assume NAV would get) or a delayed pop-up ad from an email I "read" - I have the preview pane on in outlook and I use it to select emails. Anyone have experience with this? What the heck is it? How do I stop it? My only thought is to disable the preview pane, which is pretty drastic considering that 99.9% of the time I find it useful.

I would suggest going to Download.com and downloading a freeware scanner called Ad Aware from Lavasoft. Install it, run it and see if it picks up the offending pop up on your system.

Did you just install Sandra? I did and I was getting the same thing. I just used Ad Aware and it got rid of it. Thanks MCP! :)
