All of a sudden, an Acura pop-up advertisment occurred.... I just rebooted my computer because I installed a new hard drive. I only visited two web sites before the pop-up add occurred. Then, the pop-up ad went away on its own. It was not a cartoon kind of picture. It was either a series of .gifs showing the car moving or it was .mpg. This is very strange because the last time I looked a web site was probably about 2-5 minutes, which was the Wolfenstein web site. I have XP (if it matters). It showed the advertisement window right in the center of my monitor. Not to the left, not at the top, but in the center. It just looked suspicious from the normal pop-up ads. Below are the only web sites I visited, but I never had problems with either of them before.

Install Ad-Aware 6 from Lavasoft, it'll solve your problems. To find, it, just search for Ad Aware on google.

Okay. I installed ad-aware 6. It automatically quarantined 4 objects for me.

doubleclick[1].txt
fastclick[1].txt
fastclick[3].txt
valueclick[1].txt

I do not know if they are responsible for that strange pop-up ad.

Here's a cool little program to look at putting on to check for ads as well, try Spybot. It's a pretty good little program as well.

Ahhhh -- If you'd have told us that was what it was -- a netsend message, not a popup -- we'd have pointed you here. Questions about this have been asked so often that AT got its own FAQ about it...

However, rereading your original post, this is NOT what you're getting. These are a text-only... you were seeing pictures. You've got something else bugging you, bud...

Have you tried Adaware 6 or SpyBot yet??? Also, clean you cache and cookies...

Actaully.... the first pop-up ad was "different" than the normal pop-up. I'm am uncertain if it was related to Netsend. The second time it happened (today), was definetly a Netsend problem. I didn't know the word Netsend existed until today when I did more research on it.

If the first pop-up ad I encountered is not related to Netsend, then.... I will probably never know where it came from (I really doubt it came from the two web sites I posted earlier).

Err... I have been meaning to use Sybot....I just been busy. The color ad (pop-up ad I described earlier) has not occurred again.
