I had to take a CPR class on Sat. the instructor is a Flight Nurse and works for the Denver Fire Dept.

the question is.

1. who dies more when choking on food. adults or kids?

2. Where are most adult victims found dead after choking on something?

3. in over 80% of adult choking victims, what is one thing they have in common?

1. Adults

2. Bathroom. the reason is because adults are embarassed and run to the bathroom where they are most likely found dead. Also the reason kids are not the answer to #1. when kids choke they run to mom/dad/adult for help. makes you wonder who is smarter.

3. alcohol.

Hmm so does choking include choking on one's vomit? I can see alcohol contributing to that a lot

good question.

i would say no for my question. when people are so drunk that they become unconscience, their bodies try to get rid of the poison (alcohol) by puking it out. since the drunk is unconscience and most likely on their back, they drown in their own vomit. The last 3 cases of college kids (colorado) dying because of drinking too much, died in this fashion.

i chocked once and it was because of alcohol

i was in college and a buddy of mine bet me i couldnt eat a piece of watermelon in one bite...this was after hours of drinking....well he won!

i was with 2 of my friends and one of their friends who were all pre-med (along with about 10 other people)...well they just starting fighting over who was going to give me the heimlich manuver (sp?), then I got up found a chair and started doing it to myself, using the back of the chair like one would use their hands...until one of the fools came over and started doing it and got it out...

lol...good times
