what do you call Pepsi or coke etc. etc.

Pop or Soda state that and where your from

I call it pop i live in ohio

Coke - Whether it's Pepsi (God forbid!), Coke, Sprite or whatever. You have to specify what type of Coke you want.

Soda if referring to it generically... Coke if referring to Pepsi or Coke, and respective brand names for Sprite, etc

Didn't we just hash this out a few weeks ago?

Anyhow, generally (there are exceptions though) people from the East and Midwest call it "pop." People from the West and Southwest call it "Soda." And people from the South call all carbonated soft drinks "coke."

I've called it all three, since I've lived in the West, South, and Midwest. Funny how local customs grow on you after a while, isn't it?

People from upstate call it pop. I hate that. I honestly think upstate NY is the worst accent ever. Oh yeah, I live in CT, and most people call it soda over here.

hydro: some parts, not Rochester. I have a few friends from up there (actually Ontario) and they don't have accent either.
