i wanna drop my hotmail and ideally (but i am probably asking too much) save all my hotmail emails in my gmail account

in an ideal world, i'd like to download all of my hotmail emails locally and upload them to gmail via an email client such as outlook

more realistically, i just want to be able to download that email locally

is there a way to do that?
 
actually, outlook express will do it

now is there any way to erm... move all of it to gmail? 😛
 
yea now i wanna upload it to a more reliable and nicer server!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
