Poor WiFi connectivity with NEO-G4-108A - Android 4.1.1

So I bought one of these to use with my TV. It actually works pretty well with one glaring exception; the WiFi connectivity can be anywhere from great to poor.

When I run SpeedTest on the Minix NEO-G4-108A I frequently get a download speed of around 2 Mps. If I put my iPad2 adjacent to the the NEO at the same time I get 18 Mps.

Anybody got an idea what's going on, or even better, how to fix it?
 
the problem is the wifi cable,
solder a real wifi antenna on the board and it works great, very stable,
becouse my internet before died 20times an hour this fixed it,

Make a parabolic dish out of aluminum foil or line the inside of a large coffee can with foil. Now put your Minix in the middle of it and aim it at your router.

You of course can put the dish antenna on your router as well, but you obviously change your coverage. Perhaps for the better, otherwise worse.
