Poor Raid Performance

Am using the Abit kr7a-133r board with 2 Maxtor 40 gig ATA133 hdds. The disk performance in Sandra is only 28000. This should be 40000 or better. Have the latest mb bios and highpoint bios and drivers. Am I missing something in the bios setup? CPU is AMD 2000xp with alpha 8045 HS. Am running windows xp pro. Leadtek Gforce 3 128m TI400 vid. card. SB Audigy. Have downloaded the patch from Via. Did not help. Anyone?

what kind of raid are you using? 1 or 0?

well there goes my theory that you were mirroring the two drives

Had the same problem. Mine was caused by not setting the raid controller to ATA 100
In the raid set up you might want to check that. I also had to reinstall the windows driver after but no problems after that.

Go to Paul's FAQ and get the patch for this problem. It is a well known VIA issue.
