I would say that as long as you can game fine with your setup, don't worry about the synthetics too much. However, as mentioned, you may want to upgrade your monitor, to get the most out of your quad setup. I figure, if you can have four GPUs, surely you could get 1 30" monitor :D

I am quite glad I got my HP ZR30W, even if it was $1100 :D

Does the 6990 come with a Display port? if so, then great, as my HP monitor came with a DP port and a free DP cable. Using DL DVI right now due my 6950's only having mini DP, I need to get a miniDP to DP adapter first :C

Another good monitor to consider is the dell u3011.

(...) You really need that 2500K at 4.6 Ghz for those cards to stretch their legs though.

I've played around with OC for a little bit and it seems that my CPU sample is a bit of a dud.
It doesn't make to 4.5GHz on 1.3V but it does 43x103(4430MHz) at that voltage just fine though. I don't want to pump more that 1.3V through that chip and I guess that my chip would need something in the 1.325V-1.35V range to be stable at 4.6GHz.

Does the 6990 come with a Display port

No it doesn't have DP, only mini DP, in fact none of my cards has full-size DP. I have that connection only on my macbook.

really I cant imagine
first off it is silly as hell
nobody in their right mind
you just do not see how silly what you are doing is.
Before you jump all over somebody's nuts, perhaps you should use your imagination, perhaps you are not in your right mind, perhaps you are being silly...

Don't be so narrow sighted, maybe I just like SSAA? Yes, SSAA really does need that much raw graphics power.
Depends which games you're playing, I'd guess he, like me, is playing VERY demanding games
I agree with you Lepton, loads of people seem to object to gamers whacking up the detail at 1920x1200 and follow it with a lecture that its either stupid, inappropriate or just 'wrong'. I can't even run SSAA on my 2 6990's without the frame rate going a bit wobbly and thats at 1920/1200 in ARMA 2.

ol, I am being my usual blunt self.

You aren't being blunt. You are being judgmental. Except you are judging him based off what you would do and you are not thinking about what he's doing. In other words you are criticizing him through your perspective and not his perspective. Which is really quite silly (or you're out of your mind), because in his perspective he wants to run SSAA, and you simply can't ignore that context if you are going to be critical, judgmental, or "blunt" as you put it.

Do you any of the games I tested?

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2177408

I'm curious to see how your configuration with quad CrossFire compares to mine with triple SLI. Should be interesting to see considering the differences in CPU architecture, # of cores, HT, PCI-E lanes, GPU architecture, chipset, and memory size/speed/channels.

Not bad. Yes over in CPU forum.

^_^

i only have HD 6970+6990-X3 Tri-Fire but i'll am already working on a comparison
- i am just setting up Crysis 2 on my Radeon/Intel i7-920 PC to compare to Nvidia GTX 580 SLI/Intel i7-920 at 1920x1080/2560x1600/5760x1080.
My other PC is a Phenom II 980BE at 4.3GHz.

Yes, I do, hopefully I'll find some time to do a few do benches later today.
