okay, so i have the following: p4 660 @ 4.44ghz, 1.5 gigs of pc 5300 (667)@ 744, 2x geforce 6800 ultras sli'd, on a p5nd2sli deluxe mobo. i don't think this is a bad system at all, yet i can barely get acceptable framerates at anything higher than the optimal system settings (which put me at 800x600 with almost everything off) and its really annoying me. i've tried almost everything yet i can't seem to figure out the problem. anyone else having problems or anyone have any ideas? i'd really appreciate any help.

Why don't you change it back to 3.6ghz &
check what version Nvidia drivers you're using.

Stop OCing then try. OCing can cause your system to be unstable, ESPECIALLY when gaming. Gaming taxes the system, so if the system isn't stable, it's going to get worse.

Defrag the machine. Run virus and spyware scan. Update drivers. The usual.

I don't know, but my brother has a P4 3.4 4X512MB PC-3200 and a 6800 Ultra and he is also having a "slow" game experience.

Maybe this thing is optimized for Dual cores or something!

Latest forcewares? I'd also make certain that the CPU isn't throttling hardcore.

i can say its certainly not throttling as never breaks 44 degrees load. what about chipset drivers, would they have any influence on it at all? and does the optimize for sli tab in cod2 actually do anything for me? this is really angering me. thanks for the input though, if anyone has any other ideas, i'd love to hear them. lol.
