Anand get's like 130fps plus in Q3 with a similar config and I can barely manage 90fps.

What's going on?

[edit]
Windows 2000
Detonator 6.18's
AGP 4x (with fast writes I think)
O/Ced as in my sig.

I think I installed the AGP gart driver but I don't know how to check?

VIA tech CPU to AGP controller
driver provider: VIA Technologies, Inc.
driver date: 05/04/2000
driver version: 5.0.0.102

Is that good or bad?

The only thing I can find in device manaager is:

Anand benches with sound off. Also do you have V-Sync off? What frames are you getting at high resolution. If you get good frames at high resolutions and you get good CPU benchmarks, don't worry about it.

Well, if that is really a geforce2gts there is something wrong...In Q3, my config gets 82 FPS with sound right now at 640x480, and 42 @32 bit color, texture, and 1024x758. On top of that my sys. is running considerably below potential becuase of kt133/nvidia problems

AMD 750 (not presently OCed)
256 cas2 RAM
geforce2 MX (5.X driver)
fast write disabled
Via AGP 4.03

If you are running win2k, and a viakt133 chipset...are you stable? How long ago did you put that thing together? I coulnd't stay running a 3d app (of any variety) for more than 20 min before I would crased. New 6.2 drivers are supposed to fix that (not yet out 🙁 )

OK I've managed to get the 4.03 AGP drivers on now. It seems the installation program wasn't actually working but I managed to force them on. Now have version 5.0.0.403 which certainly sounds right.

The difference it made? None.

Also realised I had S3TC turned OFF, turned it on and again made NO difference. Odd.

Last note is that I have Q3test, not the final boxed version. Could there really have been 40% code optimisation in the final release?

Troubleshooter: I disabled AGP Fast Write in bios and became stable after that. (I was having 2d problems as well as 3d problems) .. setting the agp to 2x from 4x also adds stability. Also, Windows 2000 seems to be much, much, more prone to crashes when tweaking and overclocking.

Using the following hardware:
Tbird 800 @ 950
Tnt2 Ultra 32M (viper v770)
Detonator 3 (6.18) Drivers / Windows 2000.
Asus A7V

I've been yapping about windows 2000 and this config in this thread

oops, I didn't even read that you had already disabled it. Try setting the agp down to 2x.
