I've only gotten this thing stable @ 12.5x177MHz = 2215MHz @1.75V w/TT Volcano 7+ HSF, Antec reference silver thermal compound, 2 case fans, 2x512MB PC3500 Geil DDR RAM. Is this a poor o/c? I seem to remember being able to get my AXP 2400+ to run at a higher speed than this... Of course, the Barton has a higher FSB and more L2 cache so I suppose it's faster than my 2400+ but I'm still disappointed. I was expecting 2.3GHz+ out of this. Any suggestions as to how to obtain a higher FSB/cpu speed?

are the mulitpliers locked?

drop the multiplier to 11 and raise the fsb to 200 .. 11x200 = 2.2 = XP 3200+ = good starting point.
also might need to check the vcore. you didn't mention anything about that.

i've gotten my 2500+ at 11 x 210 = 2310 but failed prime95 :( .. i think i was stable at 11 x 205 or something but i was in finals and didn't want to sacrifice my work for an oc.

it's a week 43, multipliers are locked :( it shouldn't be my memory and core temps are in the low 40s in the BIOS and more voltage doesn't help at all so I'm not sure what it is...

well 2215 mhz aint too shabby. that might be as good as it gets because of the multiplier you are forced to use.

many bartons get to 2.2ghz and after that it's a crap shoot. some go past and some dont. i have no other solutions except to blame the high multiplier.

What board are you using?

Does that model come with the A1/C1 ultra400 chipset? It could be the board won't handle 400DDR if not, and IIRC that board doesn't allow vdd adjustment in the bios.

Link. Try the latest UBER BIOS for the board. It'll allow you to up the chipset voltage.
