I'll try to get pics soon, but my wife told me this story of one of her gym members.

He's a wonderful, 90 year old man who has lived a full and interesting life. Last weekend he traded his old truck in on a 2011 red Mustang (V6, oh well). She went out to see it today, and thought "oh, he's already been in an accident."

As it turns out, he didn't like the spoiler so he removed it, covered the holes with duct tape, and spray painted it a not-quite-the-same-shade red. He said he didn't like the thing and "it's only good if you go 90 mph and I'll never go that fast."

<edit>
Finally got a pic. Apparently I slightly misunderstood my wife's initial message.

1. He DID get the official paint from the dealer so it wasn't THAT bad a match.
2. He used a brush and not spray paint to cover over the mess.

Well, at least it was only a V6 'Stang.

I saw what looked like about a 2000 SVT Cobra mustang the other day, with a custom body kit. The body kit looked like it was made out of that same plastic that RC car bodies are made out of - it was flopping around with every move the car made. It was also lowered so far down, that the wheels were rubbing in the wheel wells, and even the slightest dip in the road caused the body kit to scrape. :shakehead:

FYI there isn't a 2000 Cobra except for the 300 unit Cobra R, and anybody who can afford and knows what a 00 Cobra R is, is not going to do that. If it wasn't just fake Cobra bits, it would have to be a 99/01. But I have a feeling it wasn't a Cobra at all, probably just part of the body kit package.

In the movie Gone in Sixty Seconds some bloke had an original GT500 that he apparently daily drove while living in an apartment, installed nitrous on it, and even customized the front end.

Yes, I just referenced a Nicolas Cage movie. Feel free to shoot me now and end this misery.

Shame more of these didn't make it to various racing teams as Ford intended as it is basically a factory race car. Most of them are sitting in collector's garages doing nothing.

Don't think I've seen a real Cobra R in real life.

There's one on ebay right now 🙂
