$3000 for 1 heating season . I don't spend a $1000 and I heat the garage 24/7.

I know people who have no insulation in their three story homes who do not pay that much in heating oil.

Yes, he is slowly ripping out the walls and adding insulation.

That is what the liberal social services groups are for.

Instead of spending the time whining about how hard it is for those people; get out and have two people spend an afternoon and $50 to help solve those problems.

I imagine a nurse somewhere, someday in your future..... jabbin' you with your morph as you lye in your own faecal matter, drooling, feeling lonely and scared before you die.

Perhaps we should take more money from YOUR paychecks to pay for his nurses and morphine... sound good?

"she turns her thermostat down to 60 degrees,"

thats cold?

oh come on...put on a freakin sweater

That's cold for a 92-year old.

But, heating oil for a trailer shouldn't be costing $3000/yr, it should be more like $500 unless Americans pay 6x as much as we do in Canada (and it's colder here). She should hire some kids to install plastic on her windows

while some may state that she may not have the $20-40 available to pay for the kids; many community organizations have volunteers to help with such.

Sheet of plastic (drop cloth) and duct tape $5. Some good hearted person that reads the sob story can give up Starbucks for 2 days.:whiste:

Depending on the size of the oil tank, it could cost $200-300 per delivery easily. However, as stated before by others, a little insulation and that should last a trailer for at least a large portion of the winter.

Wear more clothes. There's a reason no one sane walks around naked in the winter up there.

I don't even use any sort of climate control in my place... When it's cold I put socks on and a thermal, when it's hot I wear shorts and short sleeved shirts. I'm really not understanding what is so hard about keeping warm, especially if you have shelter.

Anyone who hasn't bitten their own tongue to drown in their own blood by then is a terrible human being.

The body's circulation of blood to keep you warm does not work as well as you age. Add to it that it is hard to move about, which helps in circulation and warmth, as you get older.

I can understand her feeling cold. I call shens on her heating bill being that high unless she keeps all the doors and windows open.
