Being a Dawgs fan, I have to give credit where its due. The UT Defense held UGA in check all day long, it wasn't until the last 2 drives that UGA gained any of its yardage. However, Georgia also shot itself in the foot numerous times, which sad to say DID change the outcome of the game. How do you recover a fumble in the redzone, and then get NO points out of it. Had UGA made that FG...the last drive of the game would have been in an entirely different context. Being that the fumble itself was a questionable call (UT back looked down to me) I wrote this off as the "football universe" righting itself. Next we have the damn kickoff return that got to the Vols 2 yardline, and was called back because of a holding penalty. Big Time freshman mistake on that one. Numerous other problems as well (penalties, no running game ((UT's D did a great job here), horrible playcalling etc). And what the hell was with that fake punt?
Not taking anything away from the Vols, but UGA certainly did not help themselves with how sloppy they played today. Add to this that UGA now has to win the following games to even have a chance to get to Atlanta 1) @ Arkansas 2) @ Florida (its always an away game...we haven't been competitive in this series in a LONG time and 3) @ Auburn. Uggh!!

had that last time out been called on time we would have had another 20 seconds, time for at least one more stab at the end zone. ah well, what can you do. they threw it away in this game.

Let's not forget UT dropping two interceptions, missing three FG's, and turning it over with two fumbles. The way I saw it, it shouldn't have been close. UT still has Miami and Notre Dame left as well as more SEC games. I truly believe UT has the toughest shedule this year.

The Vols don't play Miami this year. Years ago, they signed a deal to play Notre Dame in back to back years (one game for each at home), then Miami in back to back years, and now it's back to Notre Dame. I'm not sure if this is a back to back deal with ND this time or not. The Vols are (on paper) over the hardest part of the schedule. Their remaining games:
at Mississippi
Alabama
at South Carolina
Notre Dame
at Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Usually they play Vandy last, but not this year. To this point, they have played one of the toughest schedules. However, their November games usually bring down that strength of schedule. The ND game should up it some this year.
