Poor Geforce4 performance

I recently purchased a Leadtek GF4 Ti4200 64Mb. My system is as follows:

Abit KT7 Via
1.3Ghz T-Bird
512Mb SD133
Seagate 40Gb 7200Rpm

I'm noticing poor performance in BF1942 and other more standard 3d games (quake2 rtcw etc)
I get around 5120 3dmarks in 2001 benchmark. I have formatted and installed the latest drivers for the card. I don't have fsaa or anistropic filtering on or anything. I'm useing latest drivers for other devices on system etc.
Anyone have any advice. I would really appreciate it.
