Not to be rude, but thats a pretty outdated spec machine there man.. XP2800 is a 2Ghz CPU which i'm sure you know, I don't think anyone is still mislead by AMD's cheapass model numbering scheme.. Considering machines are well over 3Ghz, pushing 4Ghz, your behind the curve. You were grossly misled if you thought you'd buy a poor rig like that and rush home and play all of the latest and greatest games.
Second, your Integrated video card is useless. Totally useless..
Third, its a compaq, one of the worst computer companies known to man, so you probably have a very poor motherboard and cheap ram in it.. If not, i'd be shocked.. My experiances with compaq are bad.
Finally.. You probably have 200 things running in ram, further slowing you down. Kill all useless processes. Base, you should have say 18-20ish processes running in Task Manager at startup, if you got more, kill em off, and then try your games.
