I have 2x 6950's in crossfire and I see gains in 3dmark11 and all of my games that range anywhere from 30-80%. I however lose frames in my favorite game. Battlefield Bad Company 2. I have tried reinstalling drivers, altering settings. It doesnt matter if I play at 5760x1080 or 1920x1080 I average 10FPS less with crossfire enabled. From all the reviews I have seen, crossfire scales pretty well in this game. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

What drivers are you using and what drivers are they using in the review? Also did you install the cap?

Why on Earth are you using Catalyst 11.2? You should move everything to 12.6.

The point I was making is that perhaps the drivers used in the benchmark were not the same. They aren't, and maybe there was something changed that caused this on the driver level.

OP: Do you have the latest CAP installed too?

Latest CAP is installed. Its weird , every other game has great scaling .. This one the scaling is negative. And it only show 55% load on each GPU so I know CFX is enabled just not being utilized. 55% load at 5760x1080 and Every setting turned to the max.

Maybe the latest drivers broke scaling for that game, as it's no longer a "current" game.

I'd roll back to 12.2 or 12.4 and give it a try.

I know scaling used to work for me on 5850 crossfire in BC2, and I believe that those were the last drivers I tried.

Thanks Termie. Rolled back to 12.3 and FPS went from 22 to 50 with everything maxxed out . Turn down the AA and AF and the FPS goes up to 70+ at all times at 5760x1080. Wonder why they would discontinue support for such a popular online game.

I'm sure they didn't "discontinue" support intentionally. Driver bugs happen. Unfortunately more frequently for multi gpu. It's ok, stick to that Dreamcast and everything should be good. =) Just fired up one of mine the other day for some Soul Caliber goodness

sometimes crossfire get broken in older games and fixed later on.
However
using 6870/6850 crossfire with 12.6 and have no issue at all with BC2 scaling and crossfire.
