Pool Table recommendations?

How much would a full sized pull table cost, with balls and a few sticks and racks, etc?


Did some searches online but I have no concept of quality or size..

Full sized 8 foot or 9 foot, billiards or classic. It all depends. Snooker is also a different price.

Ol'Hausen is a good brand. There are some other brands that are really great, but the names escape me somehow. It has been quite a while since I have played billiards seriously.

If you want solid wood instead of composite expect to pay twice as much, but I recommend that.

I just tried froogle and typed Olhausen. You'll get a variety of tables and prices. Looked like the descent ones are a bit over 3K.

There are some other good brands. If they come to mind I will post them.

I would recommend 9 foot professional myself if it will fit with enough room for playing in whatever room you decide to put it in. The table geometry is slightly better the pockets are smaller (enables for more skill in the game, improves your accuracy too), and the extra foot allows for more control. 8 foot pro is nice too (all the same as the 9 foot except no extra foot, slightly bigger than 8 foot classic). Try to get a nice slick felt (not that rubbery, linty crap they have on most generic tables). Don't get that crap where the balls roll into the side of the tables through canals. Those tables tend to go out of true quickly. Leather pockets or plastic is the best.

My old table was around 2-3 Gs solid wood, but it was my parents pool table and that was before things got bad. You can get a decent solid wood for slightly cheaper than that, but not by much. Custom jobs are better and more sturdy. Don't go for anything except solid wood or you will regret it later when the things start going out of true. Go to a Billiard's store and look around. Also go to a good Pool hall and check out there 9 foot tables. Those tend to be the best ones to get.

Above $3000 for a decent one. Go with 9ft pro.

And then when you go to bars and play on a crappy 6 foot table, it will be a cakewalk. 🙂

Just find a good slate table. They have slate tables that are 1 piece or 3 piece.....the 3 piece tables will save you cash. Just make sure you get one with good solid, adjustable legs and you'll be fine.

You can expect to spend $2000 - $4000 for a nice table. Make sure you have enough room, don't go by what the salesperson tells you. You need room for say a 58-59" cue to be at the edge of the table and then have 6 - 12" more for the stroke.

Hrm I think our room is 14x14, but the ends face open doors....

You want to be able to hit from both sides of the table, right?

Go with a solid piece, you won't regret it. Don't get one that is chopped up.

Brunswick are okay tables, but you have to get the top of the line.

It can vary by many thousands...it doesn't sound like you're much of a player so I wouldn't sweat the details too much. Find a local gameroom dealer and see what packages they have. Of course, I'm not discouraging you from going all out, but that can add up fast.

OMG snooker FTW .. im actually going to be playing some snooker in about 30min 😀 .. i started playing American pool, then english pool then snooker .. my highest break is 60 something .. not bad but not brilliant.

I'd say 60 is good, on a 12ft table. I read the other day that Ronnie O'Sullivan is going to be playing on the US pool tour, they will get pwned!
