I know a lot of you shoot pool, just wondering what ya'll use. For me I have a McDerrmott that I've been using for the past 2 years. Pretty good, but I kinda drop it once in awhile and I feel bad damaging a 800+ dollar cue.

Looking for reccomendations on a cheaper 19oz cue around 200-300 dollars. :D

Post up what you use! :D

Ewww. I can never find a nice house cue. Though you can still shoot good with a warped house cue, just takes more patience. House cue's are only good to break with. :D

a Viking, got it on my Birthday couple years ago. Love it.

finally something I can talk about
I have 2 Meucci Originals (not the same as regular Meuccis, older, worth more)
I have 1 Schon, very nice, good hit...paid 1200 bucks.
I also have 2 Pechauers (one worth 600, other worth about 1000)
I have a Jacoby, which is really nice, paid 700 for last year.

I have 2 vikings and a mcdermott. I have a few "other" brands that aren't very heard of too.

I swear by Meucci. I won mine off one of those guys you always see at the pool hall with the shooting glove who thinks he's king sh!t of pool. Little did he know... :)

1200 for a que is just crazy. What is the expensive part, besides the brand-name?

The craftsmenship of the inlays and rings, as well as the balance and finish over the wrap.
Types of wood and qualities of it. Taper and finish of shaft.

I have 3 custom shafts, my brother makes them. ( 150 bucks a piece, they're AWESOME )

Right on, Meucci cues are great. The quality of the older ones are a lot better though.
New Meucci cues have Meucci written in fancy cursive letters, older ones have it in print and it will say "Meucci Original"

If you ever have a chance to pick up a Meucci Original, do so...specially if it's a fancy one.

sweet jebus, I'd have trouble laying down $500 for a pool table, but $1200 for a piece of wood?:D

My first purchase (8 years ago) was tough, being 16 and spending 200 bucks on a cue.
All the money used was made off of playin pool at the bar though...

The best is using a bar cue and mutilating some sucker with a thousand dollar cue, then watch them slam it down on the floor or table - thus making it a thousand dollar set of warped and fused splinters.

To answer your question of cheaper cues i nthe 200-300 range, I'd suggest looking on eBay for Meucci's, or any of the big billiard supplies stores online.

I'm currently just waiting to afford another shaft, predator or whatnot.
