I'm more into the G6 GTP...

Yeah, that's going to be a hot car with the 6spd.
But there are like around 1700 different cars now to compete with that!

Yep - and most of those cars will be better in a lot of ways. Good thing people like variety 😉

Pontiac says it is "underpromising and overdelivering" to make sure cars satisfy customers.

"Quality is the biggest issue," says Pontiac spokesman Jim Hopson. "That's the critical element at this point, getting the last little bit taken care of."

Well at least they are trying to get it right FIRST then release it, not the other way around. Rather have a car come late but 100% then early and not 100%

Try driving to a business metting in August with a long sleeve shirt and pants, show up literally dripping with sweat, and see if you can impress a client

Yeah, but if you got a case of "convertible hair", it might make up for the pit stains!!

I like bomberman's plan to pick up a used one in a couple years.

New versions of sports cars sell like crazy the first production year, then taper off drastically.

Also, people who buy convertables & sports cars are expected to be more tolerant of production/quality issues that buyers of other types of vehicles. I'd be leery of buying the first production year of a domestic sports car. And I'm a domestic fan-boi

Has anyone looked into these. $20k base for it vs a miata, and it wins hands downs on appearance and power alone.

Actually, the 2.0L they're using in the 2006 Miata will have 170hp, only 7 shy from the Sostice's 177hp. Combine that with the lower weight of about 300lbs, the 2006 Miata would out perform the Solstice. The Upgraded Solstice will definately outperform the Miata, no doubt about it. Rumor has it, 253hp Turbocharged.

Looks are subjective, and to be honest, from what I've seen in the pictures, I'm not biased towards either. The rear ends on both are very very nice, but I don't really like the front end of either of them, its not bad, but its not great. I think they're both "ok" looking cars, certainly nothing special.

I saw the Solstice in person, and it was ok, I don't remember too much about it to be honest. I havn't seen the New Miata in person yet either. I'll have to wait to see them both in person before I can really give a true opinion on its looks.

The Saturn Sky is sexy though. I am definately looking foward to the upgraded model, and if I have some money around that time, I'll think about picking one up. It really depends on the Used car market at the time and pricing of other cars I'd really want. I wonder how much a C5 Z06, a GTO, or an S2000 will be in 2 years? 😉
