WTF are you talking about? They just reported the survey results. The surveys were from JD Power and Strategic Vision.

Maybe you should actually READ the links to see what they had to say instead of frothing at the mouth

I said I don't read JD Powers initial quality reports. I don't think they give a true indication of how a car is going to hold up long term.

If, in say 5-6 years, long term studies show the cars are reliable I will believe it. Until then you can keep quoting your 100k mile warranty and JD Powers initial quality reports all you like. I don't buy it. It absolutely does not mean the car is a good quality vehicle.

And resale value is poor on these cars.

But since this is supposed to be a discussion about the Pontiac Solstice maybe we could swing it back that way?

I had the misfortune to rent a Hyundai Sonata a couple years ago and there were many things I didn't like about the car and a few quality issues with it as well.

i've bolded the only word you need to read to know this post isn't going anywhere.

The car was brand new. Only had 2k miles on it. What is your point?

If I believed everything Road & Track writers have to say then I'd believe that the Hyundai Sonata is a better value than a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord.

It is a nice feature though.

So if the base is going for $20k....what do you think the premium will be for the S/C'd one? $25,000?

Probably not that high.

My guess would be $23K, maybe $24-25 if they bundle other things as well (leather for instance, since there's no official mention of it being part of the base package).

That's a negative on the standard AC

1. Browse to here
2. Click "Top Down Exhiliration"
3. Look for the very dark gray on black print toward the bottom: "*Starting price does not include AC or manual transmission"
4. ...
5. Profits

And there you go, although the note about the AC also includes information about the transmission that conflicts with what Bob Lutz said so it still may be up in the air.
