I'm looking at the Silverstone ML03B. I'm looking at it because all of the other slim cases use TFX PSU's or worse, and those are all noisy. The Silverstone uses a standard ATX PSU. Since the case will be standing vertically, that allows an ATX PSU's fan to access the side of the case, and operate quietly.
If anyone has seen another slim case that fits a standard ATX PSU this way, I'd love to see it.
Silverstone recommends an ODD no more than 170mm deep, which is doable. Between the back of one of those and the back of a 140mm PSU there is 29mm. A 140mm PSU is 5.5 inches deep. I can find Seasonic PSU's that are 6.3 inches deep, or 160mm. That would work out OK because the hard-wired cables are the 24-pin motherboard cable and the 8-pin cpu cable. The modular cables are ribbon style, and plug into the psu on the fan side of the psu. That means the ODD will not bump into them.
So, in theory I can put together a build in this case. Anyone see any show-stoppers? Any preferable cases or psu's? Any suggestions for low profile heatsinks? etc.
Thanks.
