I don't think getting caught or not changes their morals. It just changes whether it's worth doing or not.

If you did, you'd probably steal from a large department store..
They will often go out of their way to screw you out of your money..
ie, best buy...

I wouldn't steal from any individual, that's just rude. Violation of personal belongings whether homes, cars, wallets, or whatever pisses me off. I wouldn't steal from a store either, shoplifting is for morons.

I think an armored car heist or a bank robbery might be fun. I had an idea years ago to start a business which would allow normal citizens to plan and execute robberies. Give everyone paintball guns. It would cost a small fortune because of sets and props, actors, etc. But man, what a rush that would be.

No on all counts.

If the morality of theft is relative, anyone poorer than you would be justified in ripping you off.

Think about that next time you feel entitled to something merely because the person or company you're stealing from is wealthier than you.

Well if you put it like that then I'd have to change my answers to yes.

But guess its the whole physical item vs. the non.

No anyone with an once of common sense, no.

many who are pro-life/pro-death-penalty justify taking human life because the victim is a criminal.
We justified killing civilians in japan because the victims would be japanese civs instead of american soldiers.

Everyone says NO, but go read Plato's Republic. Look at LOTR. You would not give up that ring in the end =).

Conscience says no, but appetite can overpower your brain and your heart.
