People complain about problems in the United States too, but NO ONE tries to swim to Cuba.

Take the red pill, quick! :D

huh? I'm saying there are actually people in Cuba who like Castro and feel that he does the country well. There are a lot of people who are actually happy in Cuba, who DON'T want to leave, and who aren't rich or well off.

Only so much as I can count on the fingers on one hand. But that doesn't change the fact that the guy has run his country into the gound and anyone supporting him is either living off the people's backs or just stupid.

Not stupid, but ignorant and it doesn't change the fact that these people exist.

Let me ask you a question....

Why do you think Castro didn't have any opposition for this election?

Is it because he is doing a such job that opponents knew that they didn't have a chance against Castro?

Or

Is it possible that his oppositions were afraid of being jailed/killed if they ran against Castro?

Probably the latter, but what does that have to do with anything?

Oh, you mean the people who have been lied to and think they have it better than the United States?

Let me buy you a clue. East Germans were told that for 40 years as well, when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 they were shocked to come across and find out they had been living in a time capsle and were really 20 years behind the West, not ahead.

The Cuban's who are "happy" are lied to by state run media, think they have it "best", and don't think anything better exists.

Tens of thousands of Cubans who know better try to make it to America every year, most die in the attempt.

I never said that they knew better, I'm just saying that people would vote for Castro because they actually like him. Probably because they don't know any better.

Why is this such a hard concept to understand?

No, they wouldn't vote for him because they like him, they would vote for him because they have no other choice.

Just wanted to see where you are coming from, it seemed like you were supporting Castro based on your postings.
I would say that if the people had a choice between two candidates, they'd still choose Castro. A lot of the Cuban people actually like Castro.

My post doesn't support Castro in any way. It just makes an observation. One that is apparently very hard to grasp. :)

Listen to this guy -- he knows *exactly* what it's like to EAT OUT OF THE HANDS of the media and the government. Meanwhile, thousands of Americans who know better pity 'Hopper' as he pities the Cubans and hope they don't die before Grasshopper and his ilk get a clue.
