Hi.
Ive been following the title fight contest for Ultimate games on GameSpy.
http://www.gamespy.com/titlefight/brackets.shtml
There have been a few wrong outcomes, imo, Like Halo beating GoldenEye, and Spliter Cell losing to MGS.

But who wins between "The Legend Of Zelda: The Ocarina Of Time" & "Knights Of The Old Republic".

Lets vote here.
----------------
I personally think that OoT should win, but i can see KOTOR winning, cos its been quite popular lately, but in a few years, if the same vote came again, then people`d see that KOTOR was good, but could`nt hold a candle to OoT.

Halo MP beats 007 MP. 007 SP beats Halo SP. Halo in general beats 007. The end. OoT was a diff style game than KOTOR, but both are fun. I like OoT better though

Thats a moot point.
Ive played both MP Halo & Co-Op Halo on PC & Xbox, and whilist its fun, nothing can beat the experiance that GoldenEyes MP had. For me anyway. I loved GoldenEye. Even unlocked every cheat, level, extra MP levels, even unlocked the very hard to unlock, 007 mode.

Anyway, back to TLOZ: ooT versus SW:KOTOR...

007 MP just got ultra lame, especially if you played one hit kills like me and my cousins did. Kill him, camp the respawn point b/c it goes in a cycle. Yay. I had plenty of fun with 007 no doubt, but Halo MP - XBox - LAN and online beats 007 hands down IMO.

I read a really good article on why this Gamespy survey is complete bullcrap. I can't remember where it went...

Surmised that there's going to be too many "recent" gamers on the charts, which won't allow the true classics to shine through.
Such as those who got into gaming as recent as Grand Theft Auto 3, and such.

Zelda OoT really captured my imagination at the time. Very epic, very memorable.

KOTOR was a blast, but I actually wasn't as much of a fan of the fighting engine - it was a little TOO hands off for me.

Zelda: OoT - 9.9/10
KOTOR - 9.8/10

No Resident Evil game should be up there
Megaman X wasn't that good
Zelda: OoT isn't as good as LttP
FF7 isn't as good as FF6
Diablo 2 sucked, and it had better not beat Fallout 2
Duke 3D was *way* better than Quake 1

Zelda: OoT > Zelda: Wind Waker

Despite the beauty of the character models and animation I dont the game is anywhere near as good as Ocarina of Time. Wind Waker was short, easy and all the sailing turned the game into a borefest.

I'm not done with Kotor but right now I say,

Zelda: OoT > Kotor ...then again I'm only 10 hours into it.. but boy am I sick of star wars.

At this point... Zelda=33, KOTOR=16

It's official... 2/3 of the ATOT population wouldn't know a good game if it fell on them. :p

Zelda has been going downhill since A Link to the Past (3-D Zeldas anyway)

edit: i meant so say Zelda Peaked at A Link to the Past and has been going down ever since

I couldn't finish Splinter cell it was so boring.
Are you sure it just wasnt lack of skill? :)
MGS Stealth sections are a breeze compared to Splinter Cells.

Positive. Plus I love gripping stories that don't suck.

The story in MGS was very easy to follow, however in SC it wasnt. If you played through each level at least twice, then it all makes sence, and you see what an amazing story it is.

KOTOR is an awesome, awesome game. One of the best I've played recently. But Zelda: OOT was more of a groundbreaking game, IMO. If you look at the controls, the size of the environment, the music, the minigames, and the story of OOT it has to be considered one of the best games of all time, particularly considering the era in which it was released. It really is the prototype for action-based RPGs.

When I break out the version they ported to the Gamecube and think that it came out more than 5 years ago on a 64-bit cartridge-based system, I'm amazed at the quality and depth of the game.

OoT > *

Well, almost. Halo MP is way more fun, and you can keep playing it. However, Zelda is 5 yrs old. Too bad they haven't made any decent zeldas since :( majora's mask was OK, but the story was stupid and the game was too short.

And that matters because?

It's his opinion.
No offence to the guy, but its a bit daft saying that a game aint good cos its 5 years old. HL is 5 years old (or near enough), and people still love that.
